Vietnamese Name in Chinese Characters

I was wondering if anyone could help me translate the following vietnamese name "Bao Uyen" into Chinese.

I actually have little idea of the meaning. I think it was supposed to mean something like "preserve wisdom" But I can't find any character combination that matches this meaning.

You should find the meaning easily...

In the previous transcription Bảo Uyên: 保淵, bảo 保 means to protect, to preserve, as in bảo vệ 保衛 bao3 wei4 (simplified 卫 ) , and uyên 淵 yuan1 (simplified 渊) means deep pool (noun) or deep, profound (adjective) as in uyên thâm 淵(渊)深 yuan1 shen1.
There is another possibility for bảo, if you are not sure of the actual meaning is "to preserve". It's bảo 寶 bao3 (precious, treasure) as in bảo bối 寶貝 (宝贝) bao3 bei4 (Sure you know "Shanghai baby"! ).
Both transcriptions are possible.

阮莲香 (Ruǎn Liánxiāng)

"Lian xiang" means "Lotus Fragrance", and that is my best guess for "Lien Huong", but I could be wrong unless you tell me what "Lien Huong" is intended to mean in Vietnamese.

Here 一 is the number and 处 is the classifier. 一处..角落 is the same usage as
一棵树，一个苹果。In this sentence, 一处 and 地方 are not interchangeable, but 地方
and角落 are interchangeable. 他躲在一处幽静的角落 can be replaced...

In general, 看得will be followed by a completment, like 吓得尖叫. You can say
看得清楚，or 看得高兴. When 看得 is used without anything after it, 得 is used as an
auxiliary of the verb to describe a possibility, e.g....

Again, here 跳 meaning jump, is the verb in this sentence and 起来 means "up". Like the last
sentence, 进来，起来，etc. as a phrase, often follows a verb. And the phrase works as "in"
(in the last case) or...

冲进来, 冲 here means rush, storm, 进来 means in. So the 冲进来 means storms in. In this
sentence, 冲 is the verb, and 进来 as a phrase is the adverb.

Ke-lang sounds more like Kay-lang, not like Key-lang. And the English are one of the countries
that never dominated Taiwan. Also, that romanisation (Ke-lang) has been around for quite some
time, so...

Where did you find that information? In Taiwanese, apparently the place is called Ke1-lang5
(http://zh-min-nan.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ke-l%C3%A2ng-chh%C4%AB). Not quite the same.

Atitarev, before you continue please note that Mandarin is not Taiwanese, and that Taiwanese place
names would be Tai-pak, Ko-hiong, Tai-lam, Ka-gi etc. It's also not English, but romanisation.

You mean Chinese names in romanisation?

Corrupted W-G is hard to read for who is used to pinyin; Hanyu pinyin is well understood for who

What kind of import format are you selecting? Are you choosing custom import format? I was able to

1. Excel cannot open the entire and so I sucked it into Access and because the delimiters ( | )
don't seem to be consistant so I have pinyin together with...

I like the dictionary feature where I can hover over a word and get the definition and pinyin.

But also, I can get it to write it...

do you know how to get the data only out of the db file in a certain column order...

I'm not famliar with sqlite.. the only command I could find to extract the info is .dump...
