China's first "bird's nest" stadium with movable roof

The stadium of Nantong Gym & Exhibition Center nicknamed "bird's nest in
south China", also known as the first stadium that has a movable roof in
China, succeeded in the opening and closing test on Mar. 16. It is learnt
that this stadium is China's first one with a movable roof, with its
investment totaling 1.1 billion RMB (US$136 million) and construction
area reaching 48,000 square meters. The entire project will be completed
by September, 2006.
