Beijing's first zero-profit medicine counters

www.chinanews.cn 2006-01-16 17:12:35

Some Beijing residents were selecting medicines in the zero-profit and
special discount medicine chests on Jan. 15, 2006. The first counters for
zero-profit medicines in Beijing showed up in Caishikou and Baizhifang
branch stores of Baixing Yangguang (sunshine for the public) Pharmacy in
south Beijing. Medicines for daily use constitute more than half of the
200-odd zero-profit medicines on the special counters. This pharmacy
promoted the zero-profit medicine counters to realize zero-price-hike for
the first time, as those medicines passed directly from the factories to
customers.
