Chinese laborers in oversupply

www.chinanews.cn 2006-02-15 17:29:00

Feb. 15 - China's National Development and Reform Commission revealed on
Feb. 14th that a total of around 25 million people need to get employed
in cities in 2006, while only 11 million positions will be available this
year, which means that 14 million laborers will be oversupplied, rising 1
million over that of 2005.
People in poverty-stricken areas and unpopular industries as well as
needy groups will face more employment problems. Around 60% of the labor
forces in 2006 come from rural areas, and most of them have to find a job
in cities.
