China's GDP grows 9.5 pct in 1st half

Chinanews, July 20 (By Wang Yongzhi) - The National Bureau of Statistics
announced today that China recorded 6.7422 trillion yuan (ca 814.6
billion US dollars) of GDP in the first half of this year, up 9.5% year
on year, 0.2 percentage point lower than the growth rate in the same
period of 2004.
Added value of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries rang up
670.7 billion yuan, 3.9635 trillion yuan and 2.108 trillion yuan,
respectively, increasing 5.0%, 11.2% and 7.8%, respectively, over a year
earlier.
Moreover, industrial enterprises above the designated size (all
state-owned enterprises and non-state-owned enterprises with annual sales
incomes over five million yuan) realized added value of 3.2274 trillion
yuan, up 16.4% year on year.
