On July 1, the four-day Qingshui River Miao Canoe Dragon Boat Festival
held a dragon boat race. Miao people from Guizhou Province gathered at
the Qingshui River Dock in the Shidong Town of Taijiang County for the
grand and splendid four-day festival. Canoe dragon boats are carved from
single pieces of China firs. The Miao Canoe Dragon boat festival has
colorful activities with strong flavors of the Miao People and is cited
as the No. 1 festival in the area. China's first canoe dragon boat museum
is also established here.
